this is gonna be a longer post about it but the basic gist of what all i’m getting at is that inspiration is not an excuse for plagiarism.
the characterizations and the themes in the story are unavoidably similar. the mc character being a “key” to something more, the “amnesia” of the main character that does not allow them to remember much of their past, the bits of the past coming back with triggers and also the dark nature of what is being remembered.
codenames, healer, healer being yunho, first big confrontation scene with hongjoong happening in you guessed it an infirmary. the back and forth, the banter, the interactions between hongjoong and the mc - and these are all similarities from the second part that was posted. san’s character is noted to be someone very stealthy and who can move around quickly and quietly without being noticed. going straight from the infirmary to get some food and meet other members of the crew. seonghwa calling mc princess. seonghwa taking mc to the bridge to speak to hongjoong and leaving her alone there to have a conversation with him. sparring with a member, it developing into a panic attack having to step outside sitting up against a wall until it subsides it is play by play what happens in my story. wristbands and earpieces.
other similarities that i am simply too pissed to word out myself:
i do not need to sit here and detail why all this is similar to my story because it is glaringly obvious. mind you i couldn’t even bring myself to read the last six parts that have been posted because i was so frustrated by the similarities from the first ones. some of it is play by play what happens in a scene in mists of celeste.
note - author did not credit me for the hand my story had in inspiring theirs.
on their pinned post, they claim that i am one of their favorite authors. mind you they have talked about wanting to create something inspired by moc before
so why, @senpai-of-doom, have you suddenly decided that it’s not worth tagging me or crediting me or even putting a disclaimer on the masterlist or the chapters of your fic? you yourself stated that is is greatly inspired by ateez, their lore, and mists of celeste. where is my credit? i have spent years on moc i have poured so much time and effort into my story, i have fought plagiarism accusations too because i know how fucking hard it is when you’re writing a pirate au for ateez! if you love writing as much as you claim to then you know how hard it is to write. so why would you take someone else’s ideas and then not give them their due?

As we're approaching the end of the year, would you mind sharing what were your greatest fanfic read of 2020?
Sorry, this took me a while to answer. I only read a few on ao3 so I figured I’ll share all of them lol
Purgatory, director's cut by runsinthefamily
Not a chapter fic. Dean and Cas are stuck in purgatory. It’s not the journey we saw but something more exhilarating. The ending was unexpected and I loved it.
What Greater Gift by @chevrolangels
Not a chapter fic. Witch!Cas honestly I am down with anything witch!cas but this one also had a cute cat with a key around its neck. Whoever gets the key gets to marry Cas and Dean isn’t about to chase a cat. But the mutual pining and they are both so dense. Perfect.
The Silence of Souls by @thefandomsinhalor
TFW 2.0 are gonna save Mary but of course, things don’t go as planned. This involves TFW 2.0 coming face to face with Godstiel, MOC Dean, and Boyking Sam and that alone is exciting enough! Jack learning about his Dads darkest past was great. Also Godstiel + MOC Dean = serotonin
After the End by @castielslostwings
This story picks up where “The End” leaves off, from Castiel’s perspective from inside the asylum, a twist of fate, and conditional divine intervention no one saw coming. It details what happens after Lucifer dies, Dean lives, and the world doesn’t actually stop turning. A canon-compliant “fix-it” fic for the Endverse and a Dean and Cas who deserved better. (had to take the summary from you cause I was fangirling for too long lol)
The Heroes' Journey (or, There and Back Again) by @friendofcarlotta
The Endverse crew (including Sam not possessed by Lucifer) find themselves in the bunker. They’re suspicious as hell but excited about the luxuries. Dean and Sam deal with Sam’s decision that leads to him saying yes. While TFW 2.0 find themselves at HunterCorp universe. The brothers are face to face with John again. And destiel feels all around!
Bullets Over the Bayou by @mattzerella_sticks
This was the first fic I read in three years! And it was a good one! I just read the summary again and the last few chapters flash through my head and I got excited again cause I did not see that coming wow ‘ Racing against the clock, can Dean and Castiel figure out what is so important about John Winchester’s journal that someone would kill for it?’
Any Semblance of Touch by @saltnhalo
1925, New York. No homophobia. And magic! Sign me up!
Cas is psychometric who has sworn off magic while Dean is a Men of Letter who comes to ask Cas for help. And Dean is just a little too cute to say no to. Also, the city is in danger but it’s mostly cause Dean is cute.
Hello Future by @notfunnydean
Not a chapter fic. Two Deans. And the one from the future is so damn soft and lovey towards Cas. Creating the present Dean to be jealous. Is there anything else you need to know? No. Go read it.
I like creature fics(if you don’t then you’re done reading the list. Thanks!) so here are the few I did read.
Sometimes You're the Sea by @nickelkeep
Not a chapter fic. Cecaelia!Castiel and human Dean. When a freak storm overtakes the Lebanon, and Dean is knocked overboard, he's considered lost at sea. That is, until Dean wakes up onshore, with the bluest eyes he had ever seen watching over him. This was like the Little Mermaid but better. Obvs.
Now the next few stories are all from @malmuses
The Care and Feeding of Castiel
Cas is molting and suffering in silence from being so uncomfortable. Dean wants to be there for his friend, especially when it is brought to his attention all the times he hasn’t been there for Cas. Also, Dean gets to see Cas’s wings!!
Love Bites
Vampire!Dean. Mal has the best tag of Stranger to bats to lovers ✨ Dean is a bat who was injured by Cas’s cat. Socially awkward Cas takes care of Dean(thinking he’s just a regular bat) and then it gets all cute. ‘ A silly story about families who aren’t quite what they seem, fake boyfriends, and falling in love with someone who’s never, technically, met you. ‘
and I’m currently reading
A Fish Out of Water
Mermaid!Cas. Dean rescues Cas from a real bad gross place and slowly they start to get closer. Cas has trouble trusting humans because of what he has been through and Dean is nothing but patient. Wanting nothing more than for Cas to be comfortable around him. So Dean’s plan is to get Cas home and get him some therapy. I am in love with this fic! Can’t wait for the next update :)
Done.
#fic recs#destiel fic recs#these are all happy ending cause I don't read anything else lol#answering the q's#Anonymous

Hi Mittens, I’m the anon who asked about Christo. I’m sorry to cause any confusion. One example is how they treated Abbadon. Dean specifically outlines how they are going to make sure she’s dead by dismemberment and burying the pieces in concrete. They even repeat that scene in the episode previouslies where Abbadon comes back. So why didn’t they dispose of her like they proclaimed? Then they both leave the room to take the phone call and she escapes. 1 of 2.
2/2 It reminded me of them leaving the Styne brother alone in the dungeon and he escaped. Shouldn’t they know to lock the bad guys down more securely? Your anon who mentioned President Rooney reminded me of that strange situation with the golden egg. Why were they hanging around in the hotel room just to get caught by the feds? Shouldn’t they have freed him and ran? I feel they should be shown to be smarter. So is the writing face value for their characters or is the writing inconsistent?
Hi there! and thank you for writing back! It’s not a problem at all! I love answering questions if I can, and you’re lucky I have some answers to this one that you will hopefully find satisfying. :)
(note that I would put this under a cut, but tumblr has been breaking them lately, so I’m not gonna risk that... apologies for the very long post)
Let’s start with Abaddon, since that one is incredibly easy. They 100% did do exactly what they said they were gonna do to her. They very much did hack her up and bury her under concrete in/after 8.12. They thought they could use her as the demon for the cure in 8.22, though. They’d been trying to capture a demon, but Crowley had ordered all his demons to stay away from them. Here, from the transcript of 8.22
DEAN: Could we take this hoodoo on a test drive?
SAM: Um, I mean, I have the exorcism right here. All we need is the blood, consecrated ground, and a demon. So, what? We summon a demon, trap it –
DEAN: Or – or we use one that we've already tagged. Do we still have dad's old army field surgeon's kit?
SAM: It's in the trunk. Why?
DEAN: Yeah, I think it's time we put humpty dumpty back together again.
*
They dug her up and stitched her back together (sans hands), and were intending to use her to perform the Third Trial. Hence the stitches holding her head on:
Agreed they were kinda dense leaving her alone, even without her hands attached, when their phone rang... Crowley was calling to blackmail them and it gave Abaddon time to escape. Which is why they ended up capturing and using Crowley for the Third Trial.
Then in 8.23, when she shows up to tell Crowley that she’ll be taking over Hell now, Sam douses her with holy oil and lights her up. We don’t know definitively what happened to her or her remains after that point because A LOT happened at the end of 8.23, and “making sure abaddon was really dead-dead” was not at the top of Dean’s priority list, you know? Which is the state from which she was resurrected in 9.02...
But in between, she absolutely did spend half a season chopped up under concrete. This is not “bad writing” or incoherent continuity.
They didn’t really have a way to definitively “kill” her, you know? the best they could do was to trap her and bury her, but their own desperation to get the doors of hell slammed shut (which, if you know me you know I think is the biggest act of hubris the Winchesters have ever attempted to carry out) they didn’t really stop to think “hey maybe this is the worst idea.”
I also don’t think they knew that Abaddon had the power to command her hands to do her bidding when they were literally in a box on a table across the room from her... I mean, I would’ve been OVERLY cautious about that sort of thing just because, but I’ll forgive them because they were distracted, stressed, and overwhelmed. Sam was experiencing massive Trial Sickness, Dean was worried about him AND Cas, and then if that wasn’t enough, Crowley called to tell them he was methodically gonna kill everyone they ever saved until they gave in to his demands.
They were kinda distracted... ?
Okay, moving on to the next one: Eldon Styne and the Half-Assed Handcuff. Let’s start by remembering a few details about this Dumbass Scene.
1. It was Bucklemming... something in me always wonders if the crew deliberately fucks around with stuff in their episodes, like the ridiculously ill-fitting handcuff. because
2. this was 10.21, aka the most infamous and egregious example of that one square on the bucklemming bingo card: characters being dumb for plot. Or something like that. I don’t remember the exact wording, but basically having characters at entirely stupid because they need them to do A Plot Thing and can’t think of a better way to accomplish that.
3. this was 10.21, in which the cast, crew, and a good number of the other writers were essentially working under protest, because pretty much EVERYONE other than Carver, Singer, and Bucklemming objected to Charlie’s death.
4. Knowing point 3, please refer back to point 1.
But also, The Styne Family was possibly the STUPIDEST thing the show has ever done, as a whole. The derailing of s10′s overarching plot because whoopsie they were renewed, and Carver wouldn’t be ending the series at the end of s10 like he’d been planning, and oh no they’d come WAY too close to the end of some of their major character arcs and that couldn’t be allowed if the show was continuing, but... double whoopsie Carver was already in development on a new series that he’d obligated himself to, so mad scramble to pull SOMETHING out of his squid-shaped hat and for whatever reason they settled on freaking cartoonish supervillains the Frankenstein Family who had to be both terrifying up front (to pose a serious enough risk to take seriously at all) and then fold like cheap suits when confronted by one (1) MoC-Fueled Dean.
They were scary in 10.18, thanks to Robbie Thompson. It was that final reveal in that episode that let me know we were headed, though. The Styne Family Crest? Yeah, stolen from Young Frankenstein:
(image from the superwiki)
If you’ve never seen Young Frankenstein, please do. It’s freaking HILARIOUS. But it let me know that these were not the terrifying Big Bads we were expecting, they were a parody. They were set up to be Terrible People the rest of the writers could mock. They we were saddled with the atrocity that was 10.21. And Dabb finished them off in Badass Dean Style in 10.22. And that was it, never to be heard from again.
Disclaimer: I have written a whole heck of a lot about this (and about how this was possibly my least favorite thing the show has ever done). the back half of s10 is a hot mess, the Stynes were the worst villains ever (boring, stupid, easily defeated, etc.), and 10.21 in particular hits all the lows even for bucklemming... so I honestly won’t even attempt to defend this one. This was Bad Writing.
And finally, President Rooney... in 12.08, why did Sam and Dean stick around after Cas and Kelly fled? I’ll start this out by reminding everyone that this... surprise... was bucklemming again. Remember that bingo card I mentioned?
(lol I went and found it, credit for this one goes to @messier51 back in the olden days... https://messier51.tumblr.com/post/68535147632/buckleming-bingo is the original post, from 2013)
and there it is, lower left corner, “Sam/Dean makes a decision that makes no sense.” This is a pattern for them, where they knew the end of the episode must have Sam and Dean being carted off to Black Ops Prison, and this was the best they could think of to get them there.
I’ve said before that I am willing to handwave a lot about this episode because of everything it will give to us down the line (12.09, Jack, it’s basically building the stage on which the rest of s12 is set). And I’ve previously offered the theory that they were Concerned For The President and making sure that he would live/suffer no repercussions of his possession by Lucifer. But I mean, the secret service dudes were literally on the other side of the door and would’ve been able to tend to him just as well, if not better. I think Sam and Dean may have-- in Bucklemming’s minds-- believed that they would be fine. They were only really worried about Kelly being caught there. They thought they would be viewed as “heroes who helped save the president” and not “dangerous threats attempting to kill the president.”
Agreed, it was a stupid thing to thing, especially since Rooney apparently didn’t remember his possession, and is never heard from again in-show. He couldn’t corroborate Sam and Dean’s story. I mean, they could’ve said they were staying in the room next door (it was an adjoining room, because Cas and Kelly sneaked out that door after the secret service guys stormed into the president’s room), and they could’ve just said they heard a ruckus, someone calling for help, and simply found him like that. But they didn’t know that one secret service agent had already been warned about them specifically by “President Lucifer.” That’s absolutely something they should’ve considered would happen, but uh... they didn’t, because bucklemming.
But yeah, that’s... a thing with these writers in particular... we try to acrobat our way around these sorts of things as best we can, and move on :’D
If you have any other questions, please let me know! Otherwise, please check out my tags for these specific episodes. I think I got them all on this post...

What’s your thoughts on the episode? Lucifer!Sam? MoC!Dean? I see MoC!Dean was giving Sam his famous wincest stare again while killing him lol I actually was surprised when Jensen made that face I was like “why the hell is he making that expression?” It could definitely be seen as something Completely different. I mean people are already tagging it wincest. So maybe your take will shed some light on it? Or not, just your thoughts in general :)
The Lilith twist was fun because it meta wasn’t supposed to happen. It was also fun reading my dash of those that watched the episode in real time, people knew something was “off” during the first half of the episode and as it turned out the un-ironic anvils were deliberate: the face-touching werewolf bothers as extreme fanfic versions of Sam and Dean, Sam echoing the audience’s thoughts that the case was way too easy (because of lazy writing by Chuck), and Lilith cosplaying a really distressed damsel and then accidentally impaling herself, taking Sam & Dean and the audience out of the moment and can only stand around going “whut”? I bet even Chuck was going, “whut?” and Lilith was probably thinking “this is so embarrassing, I can’t even pretend I impaled myself ironically on purpose.“ Trust me, faulty props and accidents happen more times than you think and actors sometimes accuse stage crew of sabatoge or pranking. Anyways, from there the second half of the episode returned to the familiar format that people know and love because characters were no longer in Chuck’s hackney writing.
Lucifer!Sam, good to see you again, I can forget Casifer now. Moc!Dean, don’t you dare make me remember season 10… damn it. Oh, and speaking of impaling… .and you people think the ten thousand yard stare was wincesty. Come on, Moc!Dean literally boned Sam to death. And you can’t tell me Samifer wasn’t feeling flaming Dean stroking his hair.
We all know Dean stroking Sam’s hair aren’t in the script, this is just another meta example of Dean taking liberties with Chuck’s scripts.
The rest of the episode continue to follow the formula of protective big brother Dean and getting rid of magic weapons so that the Winchesters are forced to keep relying on their instincts, wits, and smarts. Sam figured out he’s connected to Chuck and Dean doesn’t know how to deal with that new information so he wails that they don’t have the quantum gun so they can’t possibly fight God. I think Dean was trying very hard not to think of the implication of Sam-God connection, that to defeat God means hurting Sam. When Lilith made a move towards an unconsious Sam, Dean pleaded and begged her not to touch Sam. He rather be tortured by a thousand cuts if it means sparing Sam from the same pain.
Score: 8 out of 10. Two points deduction for Chuck’s amateur writing, first for the three blond girls straight out of a neckbeard fantasy and second, for dressing Ashely/Lilith in a weird ass outfit, again out of a fantasy of a neckbeard which is what Chuck is.

For fandom meme-swtor?
Send me a fandom!
This one isn’t as spicy as the Dragon Age one, but I still got Wordy.
Also there’s lots of KOTFE/KOTET/etc spoilers in here, so don’t read if you don’t want to see em. (Looking at you, Chignon.)
The character(s) I first fell in love with:
My own OCs haha.
But more seriously: It was actually Darth Malgus! I was always going to play a Star Wars MMO, let’s be real. But when they started posting promo videos and cinematics for the game, my Sith-loving ass immediately gravitated to that guy haha. And then, it turned out he had the same VA as The Architect from Dragon Age, and that was it for me.
If we’re talking about companions, then it was probably Malavai Quinn. Sith Warrior was the first class I got to 50, and Quinn was the first companion that I really got overly attached to haha.
The character(s) I never expected to love as much as I do now:
Most (not all, but most) of the “new” companions that came in with KOTFE and beyond. I was initially really sour when I realized we were losing all our class storyline companions, and they were being replaced with a new crew of Lana, Theron, Koth, my mother-in-law Senya, etc. Especially when they – at the time – said we’d eventually get our class companions back, but it would be a while. So I started KOTFE sure that I would hate the new crew because I would rather have the old one…. and ended up liking them quite a lot! Mostly, lol.
The character(s) everyone else loves that I don’t:
Doc is the main one, jesus christ. If you didn’t read my last post, I just really really really do not mesh well with overly sexual and Adult Humor-y characters who scold you with a “You’re no fun.” if your OC isn’t into it. Doc is the worst example of it that I’ve ever encountered. I always play a male JK, and the fact nearly all of his convos amount to, “Boy, you and me are going to be up to our eyeballs in vagina when this war ends, amirite?” “You don’t want that? Come on, the Jedi Code doesn’t say you can’t FUCK, live a little.” “You’re no fun. Well, more for me.” drives me NUTS. This combined with how he interacts with Kira just does me in. Shoves him out an airlock.
Dark Side Jaesa is another big one, albeit mainly for OOC reasons. I just hate the fact that she even exists, really. I get the appeal of a story where a Sith corrupts a Jedi to the Dark Side, but the way she does a total 180 into gross hedonism while Serving You always just makes me cringe. Plus there’s the fact that straight dudebro gamers are really nasty with her, and she’s the main companion I always see men put into the slave bikini outfit, and just yikes.
Also just a lot of one-off NPCs that everyone goes crazy for and ships their OCs with, but I constantly forget who they even are lol. Attros Finn comes to mind. I don’t hate them! Just don’t get the appeal I guess.
The character(s) I love that everyone else hates:
Lord Scourge, although I’m not sure he’s really hated as much anymore. I just remember at launch, when all of the overly invested Revan stans absolutely HATED him because of what he did in the Revan novel, and then flooded the tags with vitriol over being “stuck” with him as a Knight, and having to hear about Revan in his companion convos. It was really, really tiresome! Maybe it’s because I never really cared that deeply about Revan as my personal character, but I could not understand the backlash.
Anyway, Lord Scourge is my favorite companion in the game by a long shot. I love the conversations you can have with him about the Jedi vs Sith, and I love the mutually respectful tone those conversations take. (Where other Bioware companions who disagree with you have a tendency to just go, “You’re wrong.” and shut you down.) The fact that he’s so tied in with the plot just makes me love him more, really.
The character(s) I used to love but don’t any longer:
Cytharat, Koth and Theron mostly. Although this takes a bit of explaining, and is a bit Discourse-y – because I really appreciate them as characters, but their role and Bioware’s decisions with them is what made me no longer love them. Here’s the thing: Bioware has a bad habit of introducing male characters that are bisexual, and then having them betray you, leading to situations where they either get murdered or vanish from the narrative entirely. Meanwhile, bisexual women like Lana are untouched and around forever.
I was overjoyed when I first saw Cytharat. Y'all know I’m a ho for purebloods, and the fact that he was Malgus’ apprentice was fascinating to me – and then he turned out to be a bi romance. I got very hyped for him, only to find out he dies like 5 minutes later – or if you save him, he’s never seen again. Huge letdown.
Koth was the first character I fell in love with of the new KOTFE crew – I even initiated a romance with him! – but it quickly became obvious there’s no way to play the expansion without him turning on you judgementally at some point or another. And then, hey big surprise, you can kill him or else he’s never seen again.
Theron I’ve loved since we first got to know him in the Forged Alliances content, but that whole storyline where he seemingly betrays you out of nowhere, only to later reveal he didn’t actually, idk. And then, once again, you either kill him or he disappears from the story. It felt like a weirdly shoehorned in plot for shock value, and robbed us of a second bi MOC character.
You see the trend here? I want to love these characters, but Bioware continually electing to do this shit with bi dudes is tiresome and makes me unwilling to invest any interest in the characters anymore.
The character(s) I would totally smooch:
None.
The character(s) I’d want to be like:
None really come to mind? I just want to be a Jedi, come on.
The character(s) I’d slap:
Hunter all day every day.
The pairing(s) that I love:
Haha, this question is hard, because most of the SWTOR ships I’m invested in are between my OCs and my friends’ OCs.
However.
SCOURGE / KNIGHT IS THE BIG ONE, THE ULTIMATE, THE ALL-TIME FAVORITE. It’s really hard to describe just how much I love this ship, and just how much time and energy I’ve invested into it over the past… 8 years wow……….. To the point of being almost territorial. And it’s also near impossible for me to talk about why I love it, because the version I ship is so personalized with my specific Jedi Knight, especially since it had to live exclusively in headcanon land for so long. Scourge is, more or less, my Knight’s support pillar and the thing that grounds him and keeps him humble, in a world where my Knight is surrounded by people who expect him to be a pure flawless messiah. But, I mean. How can you have a man look at your character and say, “I’ve waited 300 years to see your face.” and not immediately ship it. And then I finally got vindicated after all these years when it was made canon!
I really love Arcann / Knight for a lot of the same reasons as the above, but I just really adore his one (1) romance convo haha. Granted, yes he did a lot of fucked up things, but I was so grateful when he had like… a Zuko-esque redemption. Where he comes to your character and firmly believes he doesn’t deserve forgiveness, and especially doesn’t deserve affection, and is instead met with acceptance and a chance to grow and heal. That’s the good shit.
Others:
Lana / Warrior and Lana / Inquisitor are my particular jam. I endlessly enjoy the mutual respect between Lana and those particular PCs.
Malavai Quinn / Sith Warrior is a longtime fave, and although I DO love him with a female Warrior, I really do with he’d been an option for dudes as well. And I feel the same in reverse about Vette / Warrior – I do like her with a male Warrior, and it’s so sweet and wholesome and endearing, but man I wish she’d been an option for female Warriors.
I ship Risha with every woman – especially Vette and Sumalee – and will be salty until my grave that Risha / f!Smuggler isn’t possible, because I love Risha with the Smuggler but she gives me powerful WLW vibes.
Agent / Watcher Two is also a lowkey favorite, but I ALSO wish it could be done with a female Agent instead. Same with Agent / Raina Temple.
Agent / Vector is very sweet, but again, I will be salty until my grave that it couldn’t be done with a male Agent.
Can you guys sense a running theme here?
Finally: NGL I love Valkorion / Senya, even though that ended in pure disaster.
And people around here used to ship Keeper / Lokin, and tbh, I still kinda love it lol.
The pairing(s) that I despise:
In general terms, I fucking hate every single romance that involves the male PC romancing his padawan or underling, especially since most of them seem like very young girls. I don’t know why this is so pervasive in the game, but yikes Bioware. Consular/Nadia is the worst offender, but they’re all just cringe central for me.
But the big one is Agent / Hunter. This would have gotten me run off Tumblr back in the day, but god I hate this pairing. I mentioned in the last post that I just will never enjoy ships where the two characters actively want to murder each other, but. This just gets magnified for me with Agent/Hunter, where all the mind control and blatant abuse comes into play – and people have a tendency to write noncon rape fic of the two and present it as ~sexy rivalmance~, which is awful. Add to this the “no homo” reveal where Hunter turns out to be a woman, after getting everyone hyped about a dude flirting with their male character the whole game, and it’s just a huge No Thanks from me all around.
And for largely personal reasons I just don’t like seeing female Knights with Scourge. Listen, for YEARS I was treated like a pariah for shipping Scourge with my male Knight, while being unable to find Scourge content that didn’t have a female Knight plastered all over him. Even though he wasn’t even a romance option one way or another, the way the fandom treated m!Knight/Scourge with disdain while ardently shipping f!Knight/Scourge was offputting as shit. And then, after years, he was made a romance option for women AND men, and all these awful people acted like they were robbed, the way people reacted when Kaidan and Jaal were made bi in Mass Effect. I’m so tired. I never want to see Scourge with a female Knight again.

"19 Minutes to Live" illustrates the incredible courage and determination of helicopter pilots and crews supporting those heroes that carried a rucksack and a rifle in Vietnam. Over 12,000 helicopters were used in the Vietnam War, which is why it became known as "The Helicopter War". Almost half of the helicopters, 5,086, were lost. Helicopter pilots and crews accounted for nearly 10 percent of all the US casualties suffered in Vietnam, with nearly 5,000 killed and an untold number of wounded. Lew Jennings flew over 700 Air Cavalry Cobra Gunship Helicopter missions and received Three Distinguished Flying Crosses for Valor. This memoir describes first-hand the harrowing experiences of helicopter pilots and crews in combat operations, from the far South to the DMZ, including the infamous Ashau Valley, Hamburger Hill, LZ Airborne and others.

do you think the skamnl team is aware that the international fandom wants lucas to get a moc bf?? my instincts are saying they’re going with a white dude for popularity. also, what do you think? where can wr go bang our pots and pans so that we’d be heard
well, considering some of the actors’ friends who are moc have been posting the weird messages they have gotten so far on instagram bc people don’t know boundaries and not contact random strangers on instagram… i’d say they know about the desire for a moc!even. let’s hope they’ll cast one too. i just hope that in the case they don’t cast a moc!even people know their boundaries a little better and don’t send hate to crew or cast.
i’m not sure about where to go to make your voice known. maybe make a post on instagram and tag the official skamnl instagram account in it?

Ok so I've spent the past few days reading volume 1 of mist of celeste (found it on ao3) and I just wanted to thank you for creating such an intricate piece of work. Never have I felt so attached to a series from an emotional standpoint. Not going to lie, I have cried more times than I'd like to admit and I've spent countless nights trying to read as much as possible because I just couldn't stop. I cannot wait to see where this series will take our favorite rag tag space pirate crew.
omg !!! i always get surprised when ao3 readers trickle in here hi hello thank you for reading moc that means so much to me :c gah it’s so touching to hear that my work has been able to do that and that you’ve got that attachment and feel the emotions, i’ve definitely gotten many a tear out while writing and lost sleep bc im simply too excited to write and im so attached to the story myself that it means so much when other people are attached with me, i cannot wait to share more 💕💕

Vee El Dee: The Good The Bad and The Ugly
If you’ve ever been on this hellsite, you’ve probably heard of Voltron: Legendary Defender. You’ll find the characters and the ships (and the discourse. Dear God the discourse) in tag after tag and on blog after blog. Now that the show has officially come to an end, I’m reviewing the whole damn thing. Talking about what I think worked, what didn’t, and what exactly the show did to make even the fans look at it so harshly now. (Just a warning “The Ugly” section discusses racism, and homophobia so if any of that triggers you I’d suggest you skip it)
Review under the cut
The Good
The Character Potential:

Voltron’s characters had so much potential at the beginning. Their motivations, potential subplots, and clues to their arcs the first crew left us were actually interesting. How did Coran know Allura before they were frozen? What happened that caused Shiro to lose his arm? Is Lance going to reunite with his family? The show didn’t answer all of these questions mind you, but at the time they were introduced, those questions felt like they were worth sticking around to hear the answers.
The First Season:

The first season is the only season that genuinely sticks out for me, way back in ye olden days when Voltron was a character driven show as opposed to plot focused. In season one, the plot took a backseat and the characters were what held up the show, and it’s probably not a coincidence that most of the character development and more emotional/memorable scenes occurred in season one, when there was time for the characters to develop. Likewise, the character focus allowed for everyone to get their day in the limelight -not just the characters who were valuable to the plot at the moment-.
The Balmera and The Return to The Balmera:

I am never gonna be shy about my opinion that the Balmera arc is one of the strongest arcs that Voltron has had. Allura using the story of her people to inspire others and using Altea’s ancient connection to the Balmera to save an entire damn civilization! The goddamn adorable chemistry between Hunk and Shay! Believable suspense! Unlocking Lion Powers! The Balmera arc had it all and I was fed. Plus, Balmera gave us the introduction of the most blessed couple in Voltron history, hunay.
The Bad:
The Timeskips:
In theory, there’s nothing wrong with a timeskip. But you’ve gotta be able to show that the characters and show’s universe changed in some way during that timeskip and you can’t use them just to avoid actual story and character development. Take season six (? Or was it five? I don’t remember and I don’t wanna) when Keith and Krolia take a two year camping trip on a space whale while Voltron is off doing God knows what. Presumably during that time they developed some sort of mother-son relationship but we don’t get to see that development happening, or how that new relationship changed them, or really any proof that the timeskip happened at all besides Keith getting Galra marks and a teleporting space wolf. That particular time jump felt more like a cop-out to avoid writing Keith bonding with his mom.
Pacing:
To put it plainly, the pace is way too fast for anything to stick. The writing cycles from one season's worth of plot twists and WTF? moments to the next at the speed of light, leaving no time to address how the previous events affected the characters involved or not the show’s universe as a whole. So Lotor was actually evil all along and was using Allura to achieve his goals? Well there’s no time to mention how Allura feels about that, we’ve got three more surprise twists and a magic robot to shove into the plot! On the flip side however, the pacing is slower than a geriatric snail during fight scenes. The giant robot fights are usually the most exciting part of anything, but in Voltron, the fights are so formulaic that they just kinda… blur together into a boring fog. Lemme know if you can name this Voltron fight scene: the team’s fighting some random baddie, there’s a lot of yelling, someone gets a power up just big enough to defeat the current baddies when a bigger, eviler baddie appears who’s more powerful than the power up they just got, new baddie whoops Voltron’s ass, the support team watches in horror, someone else gets a power up that’s powerful enough to defeat the new bad guy, Voltron reins triumphant. What fight scene was that?
The Filler Episodes:

The fast pacing also means that they need to set aside breather episodes just to allow characters to interact besides in battle. That’s all well and good and there’s nothing wrong with filler episodes, if done right they can be some of the most memorable episodes a show can have (The Tales of Ba Sing Se anyone?) that is, if done right. But Voltron filler episodes don’t have that going for them. Filler episodes in vee el dee are an oasis of mud in the desert that is canon, they’re a generally unhelpful standstill point amidst a constantly changing series. I’ll admit that they can be funny at times but for the most part filler episodes are bizarre, unnecessary, and more often than not, poorly timed. If we just heard about a millenniums old empire folding in on itself and we’re just about to see a major character attempt suicide do we really need to see Coran go batshit while planning a space Disney On Ice?
The Ugly:
Racism:

#justiceforallura
I must confess that I am whiter than a polar bear in a snowstorm, but even I know that killing off a black girl (or black coded as the case may be), constantly torturing the Japanese guy, reducing the Samoan guy to food and fat jokes, and having the latino guy flirt with everyone before turning him into a farmer isn’t the best way to handle writing characters of colour. Denying said characters of colour arcs and screen time in favour of giving your white characters the same story in a different hat over and over again is also not the best treatment you can offer your poc characters. That’s not even mentioning other horrible treatment and stereotypes you’ll see the Voltron characters of colour experience. Let us also recall #notallgalra, the “what if the genocide victim was actually the bad guy” au mess in s3, all those “lol lance is stupid” jokes, the black character Kinkade speaking mainly in grunts, Allura dying to redeem the two genocidal dudes responsible for most of her trauma, and Hunk’s (half black half Samoan) family being enslaved at a fucking concentration camp like goddamn what the hell were you thinking Voltron that’s like hetalia levels of fucked up when we remember what kind of genuinely awful shit this show’s done to it’s minority characters.
Homophobia:
If you’re reading my review in the Voltron tag, and you watched the whole series, then there’s no way in hell that you haven’t heard about Adam dying and the backlash against Voltron for it. If you are somehow the .000001% of people who don’t know, Adam (a gay moc) was Shiro’s (another gay moc) fiancé who got a grand total of forty five seconds of screen time before dying when the Galra invaded earth. Meanwhile, L*tor and Allura’s relationship got almost triple that despite being abusive as fuck. But Shiro got married at the end of season 8! In a credits scene, to a guy in the background of a couple of scenes Shiro was also in. When lgbt fans expressed outrage at their rep being hyped up despite having no bearing on the plot or even Shiro as a character outside of one scene, instead of owning up to their mistakes, the crew of Vee El Dee said (or implied) that it was the fault of lgbt fans for hyping ourselves up. Yeah okay. Except after that we got confirmation that Ezor and Zethrid were a couple! Yay! Clearly a win for us El Gee Bee Tees right? Well… not really considering that both of them were depicted as psychotic torturers who also died a couple minutes later. Gotta love those crazy dead lesbians amirite?
Klance:

But why is klance in the “ugly” section!? You cry, I thought you were a klanti! I am an anti and I did ship klance but that’s not what I wanna talk about right now. When I put klance under ugly I wanted to discuss two things, the crew and the shippers. First let’s talk the crew; several folks on the Voltron staff have at the very least, not reacted negatively to the omnipresent ship that is Keith and Lance. I’m sure you’ll also remember that Lance’s VA Jeremy Shada was considered a KICK icon before that went south. The crew was also purposefully misleading when they talked about possible romances for Keith and Lance, the language they used was ambiguous enough that shippers interpreted it as proof that klance would become canon. When it inevitably didn’t and shit hit the fan, the staff backpedaled again. Stating that klance was never meant to be interpreted as romantic and we were all fools for thinking otherwise. That’s happened in the past so it’s a reasonable defence, except for the fact that scenes with Keith and Lance tended to contain unnecessary parallels to canonically romantic relationships, (the bonding moment paralleling an allurance scene in season six and their talk at the start of season eight paralleling two scenes, hunay in season one and l*tura in season five). So it’s not unreasonable to be a little suspicious there. Klance was huge on the internet, it’s impossible for the crew to have been completely unaware of what they were doing.
Next I wanna talk shippers. I’m not saying that being disappointed that a ship didn’t become canon is a bad thing. But when you act like that’s the worst thing Voltron did amidst the sea of ableism, racism and homophobia it gets a little tiring. The fact that so many klancers rushed to demonize Allura after season seven and eight and add on that I saw more people complaining about klance not becoming canon king than Allura dying a completely unnecessary death to redeem L*tor of all people was the final straw. I washed my hands of klance and Voltron as a whole.
———————————————
So that’s my review of V*ltron. I was gonna do a separate review of season eight but I didn’t even finish s8 and to be honest it probably wouldn’t have been any more than the words “Fuck Vee El Dee, Allura Deserved Better” in big pink letters. And I know I probably made someone angry with this review but if you actually managed to stick around my ramblings all the way to the end then I salute you regardless of whether or not you agree with me.

Gra w Graffiti, czyli rozmowa z krakowskim grafficiarzem
Marcin: Około roku 90. wyjechałem do Francji. Codziennie jeździłem pociągiem do centrum Paryża. Wymyśliłem wówczas swój podpis i zacząłem go pisać w przestrzeni miejskiej.
Styl generalnie ewoluuje. Poszukujesz go i on rozwija się razem z Tobą.
Moje prawdziwe funkcje życiowe są takie, e jestem synem mojej matki, ojcem moich dzieci, chłopakiem mojej dziewczyny, pracownikiem swojej firmy, a graffiti to swego rodzaju dodatek.
N.O.: „Street art wymaga umiejętności, graffiti wymaga jaj”.
Styl trzeba wypracować i zazwyczaj zajmuje to kilka lat.
Moc i siła graffiti to wolność.
N.O.: Domniemam, iż każda z akcji dostarcza innego rodzaju emocji, wrażeń i stopnia adrenaliny.
To zajmowało mi dwa tygodnie – 36 klatek.
To środowisko robi z Ciebie kinga.

All We Do Is Dance
But they ain't got a chance They ain't got a chance I need a gun 'Cause all I do is dance
Tensions were running high on the ship- with Kup added to the roster, and the eerily silent Perceptor tagging along... Things felt off.
Until Blaster hit play.
The red comm-mech hummed to himself, making minor adjustments and checking the camera screens that showed various places on the ship. Kup and Springer sat in the central facility, sipping at their cubes. Perceptor was in the makeshift lab, puttering to and fro like a workaholic pendulum.
The rest of the unit was outside, bickering and showing off their weapons.
Blaster grinned wide.
“Welcome to Radio Cybertron.”, he snickered to himself, pulling up the music file queue and setting it to shuffle, “This is your DJ speaking; let’s feel those chill vibes, mechs.”
He clicked play.
A few moments, flickering lights and consoles lit up as the soft sound of white noise rose over the announcement system.
Mechs in each camera view paused, looking up at various point on various walls.
Then bass began thumping gently throughout the ship. Guitar, percussion- a rhythm overtook every bolt and hullplate of the spacecraft as vocals chimed and hummed out of the speakers.
Perceptor shook his helm, turning back to his work. Blurr laughed, but a pede tapped in time. Springer was grinning, leaning back in his seat as his helm bobbed in time with the song.
And Kup barked a laughed before his rust-rasped voice echoed in time with the lyrics.
Blaster slunk away from his station, creeping into the narrow halls as the music rose and bumped off every wall and through every doorway. Outside, previously bitter and snippy mechs suddenly broke out into peals of laughter- playfights broke out as they tackled each other down and wrestled in the dust like farmyard puppies.
Springer harmonized with Kup, both keeping time with stomped pedes.
Blaster let himself give in to the urge to bob and bounce down the halls- nodding exaggeratedly when he passed an open door to where Kup and Springer would. They moc saluted him, their smiles tired but relaxed.
Blaster pointed at the exit hatch before sliding out of sight; showing the officers where the party really was as the music roiled out into the outside air and Blaster continued deeper into the ship until he found his goal.
The labs.
Tapping in the keycoade in time with the music cycling through the playlist, the door hummed open to reveal the odd mech out singing in that Kimia clarion-call; a University voice wrapped around brightly dark lyrics as Perceptor’s pedes tapped over the floor in a kind of dance-walk rhythm.
The scientist froze when Blaster’s voice sounded alongside his own; managing to drop a datapad to the floor with a discordant clatter.
Blaster grinned, holding out a hand.
“C’mon mech. Bout time ya learned ta party wi’ the rest of us, yeah?”
“Your accent is atrocious when paired with the choice in musical accompaniment.”, sighed Perceptor, something almost... fond in his voice.
Blaster offered a hand and a garish smile, “C’mon.”
Perceptor sighed, taking Blaster’s hand and being tugged out of the labs as he yelped in surprise. And Blaster’s own bellow of laughter announced their approach to the exit hatch as he coaxed the scientist to dance along with him.
Blaster, being Blaster, couldn’t just WALK down the exit ramp, of course. He had to leap up onto the locked collapsible railing and slide down, sparks clipping out from under his pedes as Perceptor called for him to be careful and gave chase.
Kup’s laughter was like an old gate, creaking and familiar as Blaster bounded from the rail to the ground and Perceptor managed to trip over the crouched communications mech-
To be easily caught by Blurr.
“O-Oh my.”
Blurr cackled as Blaster stood and dusted himself off; Springer calling for the rest of the unit to fall in as trotted up the ramp to grab the side of an unmarked crate.
“Let’s bust ‘er open boys! Kup snuck this lot past the last customs crew, let’s go!”
And they hauled down the crate, popping the top like a bottlecap to show the faint glow of engex.
Blurr helped Perceptor settle back up on his pedes; winking as the scientist looked away.
Blaster moved away, sitting by Kup’s leg and feeling a gentle flick of an audial from the elder mech.
“Good job, young’n.”
Blaster grinned back at him as the sun dropped a little lower.
And the music played on.

10 Of The Best Menswear Duos
http://fashion-trendin.com/10-of-the-best-menswear-duos/
10 Of The Best Menswear Duos
There have been plenty of iconic duos throughout history – Batman and Robin, Lennon and McCartney, Han Solo and Chewbacca – but you wouldn’t necessarily got to those examples for style inspiration. You don’t need to. Some of the best tag-teams in history should already reside in your wardrobe.
More than the sum of their parts, these are the sartorial soulmates with staying power, the tried-and-trusted twosomes that should be a part of your rotation. These are the greatest menswear double acts of all time.
Camel Coat & Blue Jeans
The reason why camel is popular isn’t hard to pin down. As a lighter neutral colour, it looks great with the lion’s share of your wardrobe. But there’s arguably no better bedfellow for this variant of beige than classic blue jeans. Why? It’s a classic case of opposites attract.
The camel coat started out as something to layer over tailoring, and most modern versions nod to its smart sartorial origins. At the other end of the spectrum is denim, man’s hardest working wardrobe hero now synonymous with the concept of off-duty dressing.
Put the two together, be it with jeans or a jean jacket, and you’ve got one of the best high-low combinations since the burger went gourmet. Tasty.
Get The Look
Green Bomber Jacket & White T-Shirt
Like many other menswear staples, the bomber jacket has its roots in military wear. Since its days on the backs of pilots, the original MA-1 has been worn by movie stars, skinheads, presidents and punks, and has spawned a thousand imitators – from versions in leather to silk blousons.
Prized for its wearability and versatility, the iconic green shade teams effortlessly with just about any T-shirt or sweatshirt, but it undoubtedly flies best with a classic white crew neck in and out of the cockpit.
A Dorian Gray of menswear duos: it’s a pairing that’s been worn for decades, but hasn’t aged a day. File this one under ‘things to wear that won’t make you cringe in years to come’.
Get The Look
Double-Breasted Blazer & Roll Neck
Fresh from shaking off its affinity with Steve Jobs and the Milk Tray Man, and riding high on the 1970s revival, the roll neck has once again banished cold necks to the history books.
Though it’s difficult to say where and how the roll neck originated, we do know that is was likely developed as utility wear, making it a firm favourite on the high seas.
The best way to riff on this elegant knit’s naval origins is to combine it with the captain of smart jackets: the double-breasted blazer. Sophisticated, but not stuffy, worn together these pieces work to slim down your waist while also broadening your shoulders, not to mention saving on the hassle of having to wear a shirt and tie. Which pretty much makes this a match made in heaven.
Get The Look
Leather Jacket & Black Jeans
Some combinations simply shouldn’t work, but absolutely do – like Nutella and pizza (just us?). Others, however, are a more natural fit. Case in point: a leather biker jacket and black jeans.
Equal parts rugged and rebellious, together these mainstays of menswear land hard on the trend for tonal dressing, while simultaneously offering up varying textures that keep your look interesting.
Take your style cue from Mr Marlon Brando in The Wild One and saddle up this pairing alongside a crisp white T-shirt, or bring the look speeding up to date with a hoodie or roll neck.
Get The Look
Unstructured Blazer & T-Shirt
If you’d asked most men a few seasons ago whether they’d want their tailoring described as ‘slouchy’, the answer would probably have been a firm no. Today it’s a different story, and it’s the Italians we owe a grazie to for the contemporary, casual take on formalwear.
A staple of sprezzatura, the unstructured blazer takes the traditional straitjacket style and strips it back: the excess padding and lining is removed, creating a softer shoulder and relaxed silhouette.
As a result, whether bought in a classic shade of navy, more daring hues like khaki or textured materials like slub cotton, an unstructured blazer marries effortlessly with a crew neck T-shirt in a complementary or contrasting colour to create a wealth of modern smart-casual or business-casual looks.
Get The Look
Sweatshirt & Chinos
Anyone with more than a passing interest in style will be familiar with the influence elite American educational institutions have had on our wardrobes. From letterman jackets to loafers, we have the A-grade appeal of Ivy league to thank.
So it stands to reason that two of the principle pieces behind preppy’s meteoric rise would go straight to the top of the class when worn together.
A sweatshirt and chinos constitute an ideal no-fuss look on the go, but the outfit can also be made smarter by swapping traditionally casual colourways like grey marl and beige for rich navies and deep blacks, or by adding in pieces like an Oxford shirt or Chelsea boots.
Get The Look
Navy Blazer & Breton Top
‘Riviera chic’ is a phrase wheeled out with clockwork regularity by the fashion press. But there’s method in the ad nauseam repetition, not least because nailing a Gandy-level wardrobe taps into man’s primal pipedream of packing in the rat race for life on a Mediterranean island.
Until such plans become a reality, settle for looking the part by pairing a navy blazer with a Breton top. Worn for the best part of a century, this timeless duo has weathered countless sea changes in style thanks to its unabashed simplicity.
Play up the dressed-down vibes by opting for a blazer with minimal padding, footed with either matching trousers or a pair of light chinos. The result is a look that works just as well for a jaunt around a concrete jungle as on a sun-soaked stretch of the Med. No yacht necessary.
Get The Look
Flannel Shirt & Jeans
In an age when most of us spend our days chained to a desk, there’s something satisfying in dressing as if you make your money getting your hands dirty outdoors.
No wardrobe coupling undoes modern-day emasculation quite like a flannel shirt and hardwearing denim. Sure, it may be a shameless attempt at channelling a lumberjack’s ability to wield an axe, but who cares if you struggle even to keep hold of a kitchen knife?
To reaffirm your newfound alpha status, opt for a checked flannel shirt and a pair of jeans in raw selvedge denim. Modernise the whole look with a pair of sneakers or keep it rugged AF with some worker or moc toe boots.
Get The Look
Tailoring & Trainers
It’s not hard to remember a time when the way a man wore his tailoring was not to be tampered with. Fast forward a few years, however, and not only are we more eager than ever to air our ankles, but we’re also kicking back against the strict confines of full-on suiting in something more comfortable.
At least on our feet. Wearing suits with trainers is not quite standard issue, but it’s raising far fewer eyebrows than it was a few years ago. That’s because we’re not talking about the same pair you (claim to) hit the gym in, or the ones you allow to get as battered as you on the weekend, but sleek, minimalist styles that are, in some respects, closer in appearance to shoes than trainers.
To suit up with the right solemate, favour simple colours like white, black, grey and, at a push, brown. Keep your suit relaxed by swapping the shirt and tie for a T-shirt or knitwear and above all else, ensure your kicks are clean enough to eat off.
Get The Look
Tuxedo & Bow Tie
Not exactly the most novel of sartorial dream teams, we know, but when it comes to a black tie event, it’s worth pointing out that nothing short of a dinner suit and bow tie will do.
Though wearing a simple necktie (a move commonly referred to as ‘Hollywood black tie’) may seem desirable, given how difficult a dickie is to assemble, achieving a task of such Olympic proportions is one that instantly wins you gold.
Think of the dinner suit and bow tie pairing as the All Blacks of the formalwear world. Practically unbeatable. Same colour scheme, too.
